How to Build a Website for Affiliate Marketing

Hello friends, I’m Clark. A big welcome to I assume you’re not here by accident, and you want to know how to build a website for affiliate marketing. So let’s dive right into things here.

You probably know already that affiliate marketing is a process where you, as the affiliate, promote products for other people, and they are called merchants. And having a website is absolutely ideal for developing brand and trust with the search engines and your visitors in a relatively short period of time, as opposed to, say, promoting your products through forums or social networks.

By the way, I’ve previously written a post on affiliate marketing, and if you’re interested to read it just click on the link below:

Is Affiliate Marketing a Good Career?

Right, let’s get back to building a website. Nowadays, creating a website is no longer as scary as before. The website platform that I use is called SiteRubix. It takes care of all the complicated and technical aspects of website building behind the scenes, and it’s possible to build a fully operational website inside a minute through 4 quick and easy steps which I will run you through below. Also, you can build 2 free websites using SiteRubix, simply by registering for a free membership (link is provided below, so just read on until the end of the page).

Step 1 (of Website Building): Choose the Type of Website

The first step is to choose whether you want to build a website on a free domain (e.g. or on your OWN domain (e.g. or or

As a free member, you can only build and “host” 2 websites on free domains. Just for your information, premium members can build and host up to 25 websites on free domains, and 25 sites on “own domains”.

To have your own domain, you would have to buy one (which typically costs less than $15), but an “own domain” is your online “retail store” and as you build out your website, it will increase in value just like a physical or paper asset. Own domains also tend to get better “rankings” in the search engines (Google, Bing and Yahoo), but free domains can rank very well too, so by all means start with a free domain – you can move it to your own domain later on.

Step 2: Choose Your Domain Name

The next step is to decide on a name for your domain, for example

This will be your website URL going forward.

Step 3: Choose Your Website Name or Title

Your website name should be the same as your domain name, but just in different format. For example, if your domain name is, then just enter your website name as Real Clever Affiliate. Simple as that.

Step 4: Choose a Design for Your Website

The final step is choosing a theme – in other words, a “look” or design for your website. As a free member, you’ll have 12 selected themes to choose from. Premium members have access to over 2,000 designs for their websites.
