Online Data Entry Jobs – without Investment or Registration Fees

Hello friends, this is Clark. Today let me share with you below a few websites where you can find online data entry jobs WITHOUT investment or registration fees, and at the end of this post allow me to share with you another online venture that you can explore from home with no previous experience, but which can earn you passive income.

Data entry is the act of entering/transforming information into electronic format, often by using a keyboard. Though data entry sounds technical, it is possible to get data entry jobs with no previous experience. The data may come in handwritten forms or audio files, and the data entry operator may be required to verify or edit data as they are entered.

Free-To-Join Freelancing Sites

Below are some websites with a decent pool of data entry jobs:

1) Guru.com

2) Upwork.com

3) PeoplePerHour.com

4) Fiverr.com

5) MTurk.com

6) Freelancer.com

The above are freelancing sites that also post other online jobs, such as content writing, graphic design and more.

Just set up an account in these sites to access job postings of clients looking for freelancers. The job ads posted in these sites are usually legitimate, but always keep in mind the types of data entry scams below.

Data Entry Scams

An important part of any online venture is going through the options and weeding out the scams. The most important thing to remember is that you should never be asked to make any payment for any data entry job or project that you’re applying for. Any organization that asks for a small fee to “show you are serious” is trying to scam you.

Sometimes, it just takes common sense to separate the legitimate data entry jobs from the scams. And common sense says that low-skill jobs do not pay high wages. Legitimate data entry earnings are typically low (more on this below). Hence, any organization that promises big earnings for data entry jobs is more than likely a scam.

Some data entry scams will require you to pay for false certification or training.

Sometimes data entry “jobs” are really affiliate marketing business opportunities. And there is nothing wrong with affiliate marketing per se. However, advertising an affiliate marketing business opportunity as a data entry job is misleading, and these organizations usually promise big, fast and easy earnings. Affiliate marketing is not a get-rich-quick scheme. You have to build a website, attract visitors and then generate sales.

What Do Data Entry Jobs Pay?

Data entry wages vary considerably based on a lot of different factors, including the difficulty/skill level required, and the speed with which you can do the job.

Data entry jobs may pay per-word, per-project, per-audio minute, etc. Generally, however, you can earn $10 to $15/hour for entry level projects, therefore let me repeat that any organization that promises big earnings for data entry jobs is more than likely a scam.

When you have gained enough work experience and/or training, you can take on more complex data entry projects that pay more.

Data entry is a legitimate way to work at home, but it won’t make you rich. The reason is because you’re trading your time for money. Online marketing (which includes affiliate marketing) allows you to earn a passive income – regular earnings that require little to no effort on your part, once you’ve put in the time, hard work and dedication that is required initially. • HI Clark,
Thanks for this post on Data Entry Jobs. I will be sure to check them out. Internet jobs are somewhat scary these days as a large number of them are scams.
Are there specific ones that you can recommend?
That would save me a lot of time not having to check them all out. I notice that you are recommending Wealthy Affiliate.
Would it be better for me to try their program or go for one of the Data Entry jobs?
I will come back to read your response. Thanks for the post.

    • Hey Luna, Merry Christmas! Sorry for the late reply. I was busy with the Christmas festivities :). If you’re really interested in data entry jobs, you can join any one of the six websites above. All of them are legit but since data entry does not pay much, I would recommend Wealthy Affiliate (I assumed you clicked on one of my links above and that’s how you know), an online marketing training website where you learn and actually create an online business for free.
